the average singlefamily selling price for jan-feb 2010 is at an all time high ... although the rate of increase year to year is slower than in the period 2000 to 2007
the market ended 2009 firmly in the Sellers market zone for singlefamily homes in Peterborough & Rural Districts... and February 2010 is just into the Sellers Market zone...all these low interest rates and buyer incentives seemed to have worked ....
with waterfront properties it is too early in the year to get a good indication of how this market will develope as we head into spring and summer ... but the figures for Jan-Feb 2010 based on a small number of sales are showing the singlefamily waterfront homes average selling price at an all time high, and the cottage waterfront average selling price for jan-feb 2010 is still down on the peak of 2007, and is still just below the 2009 figure ...
2010 is starting off strongly in most real estate categories, and it will be interesting to see how the year developes after the rush to buy before the HST starts on the 1st july 2010, and then as the mortgage interest rates might start to gradually increase .
